"Research is an important element of any knowledge institution. Institutions have the duty not only to impart knowledge but also to create new knowledge which necessitates the need for research for it to be recognized as a centre for knowledge excellence.
Research at RMIT Vietnam will have a number of positive implications including enrichment of content delivered to students, community linkages, professional development of individuals and recognition in the world of academics.
With my experience of more than four years at RMIT in academics, industry linkages and student support, I wish to extend my efforts to this new and value adding endeavor of the University. As a lecturer and as student (of MBA), I have come through some links in the academics which need to be strengthened and these have also been identified by colleagues from time to time. I strongly believe that these should be highlighted and improved for the students in future to make their learning more valuable and for the staff to make their term more rewarding in terms of skills and knowledge enhancement. In my opinion, reserach can be one big instrument of developing a cause and effect relationship and help us make our teaching more meaningful and a learning experience based on facts and grassroot realities. Being one of those colleagues who have been with RMIT for long time and have always happily participated in any activity of institution service, I wish to participate in this visionary activity of institution building. For this, I seek your support and encouragement."
